The Aspendos Theatre, built in the 2nd century AD during Marcus Aurelius’s reign by architect Zenon, is one of the best-preserved ancient Roman theatres in the world. Nestled near Antalya in the ancient city of Aspendos, it could originally accommodate between 7,000 and 15,000 spectators across 41 rows. The structure features an impressive stage building standing nearly 22 meters high and exceptional acoustics that allow even a whisper on stage to be heard from the top seats. Today, the theatre is still in active use, hosting annual opera and ballet performances every summer
