The Red Tower, or Kızıl Kule, is Alanya’s iconic 13th-century octagonal fortress located at the harbor. Built in 1226 by the Seljuk Sultan Alaeddin Keykubad I, it was designed to protect the city and nearby shipyard from naval attacks. Made from red brick, which gives it its name, the tower stands 33 meters tall and offers panoramic views of the harbor and city. Today, it houses the Ethnographic Museum, displaying traditional Turkish artifacts and the history of Alanya's maritime past.
It’s named after its distinctive red bricks used in its construction, which give it a reddish appearance.
The Red Tower is 33 meters tall and has five floors with a rooftop viewing platform.
It houses the Alanya Ethnographic Museum, featuring exhibits on local culture, maritime tools, textiles, and historical photos.
